The Iris Foundation was created to give young professionals in the Nashville community a chance to give back and make a lasting impact on the city they love. Founded in 2016 by a group of close friends, the goal was to provide an opportunity for young professionals to come together altruistically, and in the process, meet new acquaintances who share the urge to give back to Music City.
The Iris Foundation (inspired by the state flower of Tennessee) is now comprised of 40 distinguished hosts, each with critical roles in organizing the black tie fundraiser known as The Iris Ball, which highlights a deserving charity each year.
The inaugural Iris Ball took place in April 2017 and hosted 640 people from across the country for a night of socializing, dancing and fundraising. Over $64,000 was donated to Purple Heart Homes, which helped fund three housing renovation projects for military veterans across Tennessee.
